Networld+Interop 2001
Las Vegas Notebook

The two-day pre-exhibit Interop event is being held at the elegant Bellagio Hotel in calm and measured surroundings. It is being chaired and led by the energetic Dr. James A. Metzler, a 26 year veteran of the networking industry, with expertise in emerging industry trends and technology. He specializes in the user-centric areas and his expertise includes the application of networking to solve business problems. In particular, he analyzes alternative technologies, the total cost of ownership and other techno-business issues.
Judging by the well attended conference and the business related questions being addressed to Dr. Metzler and his presenters, there are ample problems to be solved. More importantly, attendees are actively looking for a route out of the current business malaise and meltdowns. Agenda topics include "A road Map for E-Business", "Best Practices in E-Business", "The Changing Face of E-Business", "Wireless A Key Emerging Technology" and a very 21st century subject, "The New Age Data Center".
Having gone through numerous crises in my former automotive life, I can certainly understand what many of these companies and people are going through now. Perhaps some the excellent sessions like Strategic Interop, will provide some new insights and ideas to people and companies in trouble. For me, these in-depth sessions have always been strength of Networld+Interop over the years.
