(Available in September 1999 - Estimated Selling Price $399.99)

Sony Multiscan Color Monitor HMD-V200

Available in July 1999, the new Sony Multiscan HMD-V200 is the world's flattest Trinitron CRT. It combines a 0.24 mm variable aperture grille pitch, one watt per channel stereo speakers, advanced on-screen setup navigation and Sony's Elliptical Correction System technology (which helps eliminate corner image distortion) in a high contrast, anti-reflective 17 (16 viewable) inch 1280 x 1024 monitor.

The unique design allows you 25 degrees of tilt, so you can position the display at the most comfortable viewing angle. The HMD-V200 comes in two colors, Adobe (similar to conventional systems) and Slate blue (similar to Sony's VAIO products).

(Available in July 1999 - Estimated Selling Price $499.99)

Sony Multiscan Color Monitor (KL-X9200U)

The Sony Multiscan X9200 is a crisp, uniform, high resolution 50 inch (127 cm) diagonal display device. Due to its use of three 1.3 inch (3.3 cm) TFT LCD panels:

  • the unit weighs only 106 pounds (48 kg).
  • the unit is not affected by magnetic fields

In addition to the 1024x768 XGA resolution, the KL-X2900's built in scan converter accepts VGA to SXGA signals, along with PAL, SECAM and NTSC. The source of these signals can be RGB, component video or S Video). Other key features and benefits are:

  • Sony's Plug and Present technology allows the monitor to be plugged in and used immediately without complex setup sequences.
  • Linear Array Processor (LAP) provides the NTSC and RGB compatibility, remaps the input image to fit full screen to minimize quality deterioration and maximize full screen usage.
  • Built in 3D comb filter provides excellent color and detail reproduction.
  • All in one optical system is not affected by shipping handling and no convergence or focus adjustments are required. This is a time consuming products on many older projection systems (even Sony's).
  • High energy discharge (HID) lamp lasts about 6,000 hours and because of its 1.4 mm beam arc, the light beams are more parallel resulting in an excellent color spectrum. It also is only 100 watts of power and is easy and safe to replace.

(Available in June 1999- Estimated Selling Price $9,999)

It also handles most formats (NTSC, PAL, 480I, 480p, 720p, 1080I, VGA, SVGA, XGA and SGA).

(Available in May 1999- Estimated Selling Price $12,500)
